PIAZZA MAGGIORE. It has always been at the heart of city’s life since Roman times as you can see from the recent discoveries unearthed from the former  stock -exchange hall .   
  
KING ENZO’ S PALACE. A romanesque building dated back to 1244  used as a prison for the son of the emperor Frederich the second.

PALAZZO D’ ACCURSIO. A medieval fortress  now used as the TOWN HALL.

NEPTUNE  FOUNTAIN .A masterpiece of the Flemish sculptor Jean Boulogne (Gianbologna)

HALL  OF THE NOTARIES. The former seat of the Notaries’ Guild.

BASILICA OF St. PETRONIO. The most belated   gothic church in Europe with a famous sundial.

PALAZZO DEL PODESTA’. A 15th century building with an important renaissance facade.

THE ARCHIGINNASIO. The first permanent seat amongf the most ancient Universities in Europe with a famous anatomical theatre
MEDIEVAL  MARKET. A walk along the narrow streets of one of the most picturesque market.

THE TWO TOWERS. Built in the 12th century as a status symbol of  the most important bolognese families.

PALAZZO DELLA MERCANZIA. [Merchants’ Hall] A beautiful example of the flourishing gothic style.

PORTICOES. A ribbon of more than 35 kilometres of columns which goes  all along the  town.
